Even though I'm in the middle of mulling through another topic, I just want to share something really quickly. I just happened to be drawn to a video talking about trauma as it relates to release and capacity. And it brought me to something that I think all of us can learn from Sophie's recent bout with a pretty bad muthf*ckr.
I think what we can attempt to model is her capacity to be present in the very real and acute sense of pain. If I have a tiny capacity for pain, hardship, or any of the big bad things life has in store then I am f*ckd royally.
I think there is a connection somehow in being present and having capacity.
In this Drink Your Food challenge, where we increase our ability to be present (Hopefully, I have it correctly) seems to be how we develop more capacity to be with the things are, no doubt, difficult for us.
I think we may start to see that there is a choice in whether we fall apart in the suffering that our minds will suggest or we take our licks while we look for a way through the pain.
This is just a little something that I'm slowly coming around to. Thanks for reading this.
