I see there's a lot of meat on the bones of life that I am not eating. For the longest time, it has seemed like I had no access to it.
However, thanks to something Sophie posted about designing one's life, I am starting to see that the 24 hrs I have in a day are enough to design and set up myself to be, do and have more. As in more fulfillment.
Yesterday was rich with opportunity. I had a chance to bring harmony or flow or whatever it's called when you allow and encourage what is happening to be as it is.
Sidebar: When I observe the martial art Aikido masters, there seems to be a form that is trained to some level of intuition that allows the practitioner to go with what is happening fluidly.
Back to yesterday. I was sitting in a movie theater attempting to pay attention to what I thought was an interesting story when about 5 teenagers snuck in bringing their snickering and thumping with them. This was life happening. Although, I had the initial urge to force them to shut the f*ck up. But then I remembered a conversation with Helen about 'Directing Traffic.' I did a bit better in that theater because of it.
For those not familiar with 'directing traffic', my understanding is that you allow and welcome what is happening to do so. There is to be no resistance. (Check Sophie's articles)
Now, going back to designing life. I am seeing two things that would be game changers with some discipline, of course.
1- cutting back on watching tv shows. The earlier I get to bed, the more time I have to work on any of the 4 pillars of the good life (certainly more money making activities.)
2- deliberately approaching my day as a workshop to 'direct traffic'
Nothing I'm sharing is new or groundbreaking. If anything, I'm someone who hasn't caught on all these years, and now I'm starting to see that I really do have some power over what it is I can actually do with what I do have.
In other words, for every instance where I make room for and adjust to what is actually happening I express my power.
This isn't easy, obviously for me, as I am trained to want to control others. As in, they should do this; They shouldn't behave like that.
The question of will I do this long enough and with the correct form to make it intuitive beckons.
And now it's clearer why Jodie made the progress she did. She willingly allowed a master to correct her form consistently and tightly.
